About the Samurai:
Hijikata Toshizo was born the youngest of a six child family, with his parents dying when he was young, he was raised by his older brother and his brother's wife. At a younger age, due to that he was often spoiled, he would poke fun at people, but his attitude changed when a young man was forced to commit seppuku for opposing the Reformists. He began training himself in the art of the katana, then later enrolled in a school, where he met a to-be close friend Kondo Isami. Together, the two formed the Shinsengumi The Shinsengumi were the Special Police of Kyoto that fought against reformists. Hijikata Toshizo was later killed in a battle that he knew would lose, but went in with his head held high.
